About Judith and Binding Logic

Judith Patterson has been serving the needs of graduate students for more than 25 years. First, as medical library technician, then as departmental administrative assistant in a research hospital, and since 1988, bookbinder to thousands of graduate students. She brings to her clients a wealth of knowledge about the thesis process helping them to present professionally. Besides offering thesis binding, she has spent many years focusing on the fine art of bookbinding and restoration. Studying first with the Canadian Bookbinders and Book Artists Guild in Toronto and later furthering her studies in French Design bookbinding with Tini Miura at the American Academy of Bookbinding in Telluride, Colorado. Other eminent master bookbinders and artists who helped develop her skills and shaped her vision of the fine craft of bookbinding were Eleanore Ramsay, Frank Mowery and Hans-Peter Frölich as well as Einen Miura. As well, Judith has studied commercial bookbinding at George Brown College in Toronto. Recently her studies have taken her to Montreal to the studio of Odette Drapeau, with a focus on both commercial and interpretative design binding. Judith’s design binding “Marriage of Figaro” was exhibited in Paris, France, September 2009.
